A Sharkovskii-type theorem for minimally forced interval maps
We state and prove a version of Sharkovskii’s theorem for forced interval maps in which the forcing flow is minimal (Birkhoff recurrent). This setup includes quasiperiodically forced interval maps as a special case. We find that it is natural to substitute the concept of “fixed point” with that of “core strip”. Core strips are frequently of almost automorphic type. AMS 2000 Mathematics Subject ...

On Ramsey-type theorems
In [21], Frank Plumpton Ramsey proved what has turned out to be a remarkable and important theorem which is now known as Ramsey's theorem. This result is a generalization of the pigeonhole principle and can now be seen as part of a family of theorems of the same flavour. These Ramsey-type theorems all have the common feature that they assert, in some precise combinatorial way, that if we deal w...
متن کاملHartogs Type Extension Theorems
Let ∆ ⊆ C be the open unit disc and let Σ ⊆ ∆×∆ be a compact set such that K = Σ ∪ (∂∆×∆) is a connected set. It is a classical result by Hartogs that if Σ is an analytic variety over ∆ with the boundary in ∂∆×∆, then every function holomorphic in a connected neighbourhood of K extends holomorphically to a neighbourhood of ∆ × ∆. It is proved that the same conclusion holds if Σ is a ‘continuous...
